TCM throughout the phases of your pregnancy

Acupuncture for pregnancy offers gentle and holistic support to strengthen you and your baby, relieve discomfort, and enhance your overall well-being. Pregnancy is a special time full of anticipation – yet sometimes unpleasant side effects can diminish this joy.

Regular acupuncture treatments during the different stages of pregnancy help to improve your general well-being and facilitate the birth process.

The first 12 weeks – A strong foundation for your pregnancy

In the first weeks of your pregnancy, it is particularly important to create a stable foundation for your body and the development of your baby. Through targeted acupuncture, I help you provide your body with the best possible conditions so that your baby can grow optimally.

We focus on:

  • Relief from fatigue and exhaustion

  • Reduction of (even severe) pregnancy-related nausea (Hyperemesis gravidarum)

  • Support of emotional balance

  • Improvement of sleep quality

In this early phase, several acupuncture treatments may be ideal.

Weeks 13–27 – Relaxed through the second trimester

You have passed the more uncertain initial phase, and the second trimester begins. The focus now is on relieving common discomforts such as:

  • Lower back and pelvic pain

  • Sciatic pain

  • Digestive issues such as reflux or heartburn

  • Headaches

  • Accompanying symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Swollen legs

  • Depressive moods (temporary)

During this trimester, it is usually sufficient to come for acupuncture treatment once a month.

Weeks 28–40 – Acupuncture in preparation for birth

The final trimester is dedicated to intensive preparation for birth. From week 33 onwards, we meet weekly to prepare your body for labour and to relieve discomfort.

From week 39, we begin gentle preparation and support for labour, only if a cesarean section is not planned.

After birth – Support in a new phase of life

After birth, a new phase of physical adjustment begins. Acupuncture can also offer valuable support at this stage, especially if you wish to breastfeed or are experiencing common postpartum concerns:

  • Breast engorgement, low milk supply, or mastopathy

  • Night sweats

  • Constipation

  • Hormonal changes

  • Exhaustion

  • Birth injuries and cesarean section scars

  • Hemorrhoids

  • Urinary tract issues

  • Support for postpartum depression in coordination with your psychotherapist / psychiatrist

Let us work together to ensure that you experience these special months with as much ease and well-being as possible. TCM during and after pregnancy is a gentle yet effective companion for you and your baby.

Hello,

my name is Mounia, it’s lovely to have you here!

My first experiences with TCM took place during my pregnancy. I suffered from a severe form of pregnancy-related nausea and was desperately searching for methods that could help me.

Through TCM, I regained confidence, strength, and support that I so urgently needed during this special time.

During my years of training, it quickly became clear to me that my focus must be on women’s health. Since then, I have continuously expanded my knowledge in Switzerland and abroad in the areas of pregnancy, fertility, and cycle irregularities, in order to support women holistically and individually throughout different phases of life.

Top experience. I have been to Mounia Jammal several times for TCM treatments (before, during, and after pregnancy) and always felt very well supported as a woman and as a person of color. I highly recommend her to all my friends.
