Winter, Wei Qi and time for new things

I hope you've had a good start to the new year, even though winter is proving quite challenging for us right now.

Since the Christmas holidays, I have encountered many patients suffering from flu-like infections, colds, neck pain and a great deal of exhaustion.

From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) , Wei Qi plays a central role here. It is our defensive Qi, which protects us on the body's surface and wards off external influences such as cold, wind, and pathogens.

If it is weakened and permeable, we get sick more quickly or need longer to regenerate.

A little reminder for everyone, something that's easily forgotten in everyday life:

  • Eat warm, seasonal dishes (e.g., soups, stews, warm breakfasts)

  • Sleep 7-8 hours , ideally go to bed before 11 pm.

  • Protect your neck and back well from the cold (scarf, snood, neckerchief, balaclava)

  • Consciously build in breaks between 11 am and 1 pm, because according to the body clock this is the phase of the heart (Shen): simply clear your head, put your phone away or even take a power nap.

  • regular exercise

Often it is precisely these simple things that sustainably strengthen our Wei Qi.

🚨 Organizational information:

From February 1st, 2026 , the practice will be closed on Wednesdays .

My practice days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday .

I am also currently working on new small workshop formats that should offer you even more practical support in everyday life in the future.

More on that soon 🤎

Warmest regards and keep your neck area warm 🧣
